Dear Tri-Star Visitor,

Welcome to www.tristar.ca

Our website was developed in Macromedia's Flash, which has had some known compatibility issues with various browsers.

Update your Flash plug-in! You can download the latest from Macromedia.com here:

If you're experiencing difficulty accessing the site, this might be the reason why. So, we've put together some important information that explains how you can successfully access our site, as well as other Flash sites.

If you're still experiencing problems, send us a message.

Step By Step Solutions

Here are some helpful platform and browser specific solutions to help you access Tristar.ca

All Users

We recommend 1024 x 768 screen resolution. This screen resolution is fast becoming the industry standard for design and viewing specifications. If you are still on 800 x 600 resolution - this site might not appear as intended.

Mac Users

We recommend that you have the following:

Mac IE 5.0 and/or any NS 4.7x browser
*It is essential to use IE5.0. This version has no Flash compatibility issues.

If you are a Macintosh AOL visitor:
We recommend that you use either the Netscape (NS) or IE stand-alone-browser with your AOL program, instead of the built-in browser. The AOL built-in browser uses Internet IE 4.0, which has known Flash compatibility issues.

Make sure you connect to AOL before launching either browser.

PC Users

We recommend that you have the following:

IE 5.x and/or NS 4.74 or higher browser.

If you experience 'freezing' while using NS 4.75:
We recommend that you downgrade to NS 4.74. There have been reports of NS 4.75 compatibility issues with Flash, but unless you've experienced it first-hand, we recommend that you stick with the version that works for you!

Mac and PC Users

It is possible to experience problems with some sites using Flash animation, but not with others. Having the latest plug-in ensures your browser is completely compatible with all Flash sites.

Update your Flash plug-in! You can download the latest from Macromedia.com here:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/downloads

If you continue to experience problems after updating the plug-in:
We recommend that you re-install, but make sure you follow these simple steps before reinstalling. (The installer allows you to select either Netscape or Internet Explorer. You can apply these steps to either browser.)

1) Quit the browser

2) Locate the Plug-ins folder. Netscape and IE both retain separate plug-in folders, which are located inside their respective application folders. You can perform a Find for "Plug-ins" to quickly locate the folder.

3) Remove and trash the following plug-in files from your Plug-ins folder:

Macintosh Users

ShockwavePlugin.class
Shockwave Flash NP-PPC
NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave

PC Users
ShockwavePlugin
ShockwaveFlash.class

4) Run the Shockwave installer again, selecting which browser to install to.
